The techniques that may be chosen to address a given situation usually depend on the nature of the decision to be made and its complexity. To start with, the stage that is foremost is the listing of possible solutions so that all those that cannot be applicable are eliminated. This is followed by setting of a time scale and also the process of determining who is responsible for the decision. The other stage involves information gathering so that it can be determined whether a particular technique is suitable for the situation.
