The competition was conceived in the Canada (sea to sky corridor). It started in the Birchen, BC many years ago. Birchen, BC is located in the along HWY 99 Pemberton North (The whistler new para. 11). During the early years when the game was started, it was not accepted. No sponsors at that time supported the event. However, as the years went back, the game attracted attention, which saw many people develop an interest. The mediation helped to popularize the game in Canada to its status. After many years at Birken, BC, the event was moved to its current location at the Green river. One of the clubs that have been supportive in organizing the competition is called Rebels. It helps in organizing the event in various new facilities.

Events that are held

During the competition, various events are held at the green river rally. These events include Hill climb, mud pit, all terrain and road rally. The points from all these events are then combined to be able to determine the winner of the overall champion. Some of the contestants note changing tiles during the rally and request for such consideration in overall summation of their points.

The champions currently attract many people. The advancement of technology has also helped in facilitating communication and promotion. Fans are reached through social media networks such as face book. This contributes to huge turnouts during the events. During the event, the first event is the road rally where the drivers and the navigators inform those in charge of recording the starting time the average time the drivers will travel. After this, they live the green river areas along the 4×4 road driving out of the starting area (The whistler new para. 13). This is not actual race but is just a hint used in estimating the time it will take to travel and used in determining overall rally points that are recorded.

The second event is the hill climb. This requires drivers to drive on 300-meter vertical hill. Competitors line up and get prepared to drive over the hill aiming to use the least time possible. Highest score goes to the driver that climbs the child within the shortest time possible. The driver that climbs the hill in the longest time I score few points. The third event is the mud pit where a pit of mud that is average to 290 meters wide The objective of this competition is to get the vehicle get out of the pit within the shortest time possible and drive to the finishing line. This is one of the most challenging parts of the competition as many drivers are unable to get out of the mud (The whistler new para. 15).

The last race is all terrain where the competitors are required to race around unmarked track. The objective of this is to finish all terrain courses within the shortest possible time. There is a challenge in this race when it comes to navigating the unmarked course. The reason for not marking the course is to make the race challenging. Those competitors that fail to follow the right course forfeit points that reduce their overall scores.

Type of people that watch the game

The Competition’s Spectators

Majority of the 4×4 off-road competitions are lovers of motor racing

Family members and friends watch the game. In the powder puff event, the ladies drive the 4×4 vehicles in the entire all terrain course (The whistler new para. 18). In the 2012 competition, 15 entrants participated in this event. In the mud run event, every participant puts in more effort to succeed. The crowd cheers them as they compete. Every competitor uses her own strategies, and styles to win and get the prize.

After the competition, the winners are given prizes ranging from $100. The meals are then served to the competitors and their families at the spectator garden. There is also beer, which is available but is restricted to the garden area for adults that are 19 years and above. After the competition, most of the people head to the garden for these refreshments as they watch 4×4 competitions. All the children are placed in a central park to play around the green river spectator event grounds. They play, socialize, and make friendship with their colleagues that attended the events (The whistler new para. 19). There is a memorial set at the 4×4-terrain park for remembering one of the people that participated in the events – Corey Antolli who is unable to attend the event.

Rules and Regulations

1.9” class-model vehicles must have OEMA chassis or custom leader style, which must extend over the axles.

There are various rules that all vehicles that participate in the competition need to meet. 1.9” class-model vehicles must have OEMA chassis or custom leader style, which must extend over the axles.
