It has been noted that there is increased cases of obesity in the world and UAE as a country. About 5% of the UAE population is affected by obesity and more than 3% of the world\u2019s population is currently affected by obesity (Dewey, 2010). With respect to the above increase in the rates of obese individuals, this paper will discuss obesity in general as well as highlight the causes and measure of curbing it. <\/p>\n

The prevention of obesity specifically in children is an important concern that needs to be addressed effectively especially children who come from urban areas. In the UAE obesity is considered to be one of the issues that affects the public health care policies. With respect to this health care issues the government has been on the forefront to ensure that is has the best policies, manpower as well as all the needed systems that could carb the menace (Talwar, 2013). One of the challenges that has gained diverse consideration is childhood obesity. One of the causes of obesity is noted to be increased intake of junky foods as well as lack of taking part into physical exercises on daily basis (Dewey, 2010). Therefore, it is the responsibility of the parents as well as the academic instruction to consider that children take the right foods or diet as well as take part in day to day exercise in order to avoid obese cases.
