There is a debate in society as to which factor factors more heavily in peoples\u2019 sexuality and gender identification:\u00a0\u00a0 Genetics or environment.\u00a0\u00a0 Genetics perform the obvious functions, like determining our biological sex at birth, and the changes that take place during puberty.\u00a0\u00a0 But that\u2019s where the certainty ends.<\/p>\n
\u00a0How people identify as gender-wise, is influenced by a variety of factors.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 None has been absolutely proven to be dominant in explaining gender identification.\u00a0\u00a0 There are societal forces, biological forces, and psychological forces at play.\u00a0\u00a0 The end result is an individual that chooses behavior, clothing, social circles, and occupations, based upon, or in opposition to, their biological gender.\u00a0 How in line each person\u2019s psychological make-up is with respect to their identification is individual. \u00a0<\/p>\n
For this assignment,\u00a0you will do internet\u00a0research in two domains of gender research:\u00a0 Biological and Environmental.\u00a0 For each domain, select 2 theories.\u00a0 So you will research two Biological theories, and two Environmental theories.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0For each theory, please provide the following:<\/p>\n
1:\u00a0\u00a0 The hypothesis behind the theory.\u00a0\u00a0 What specific question were the researchers trying to answer?\u00a0\u00a0 It\u2019s not enough to say is gender genetic or environmental.\u00a0\u00a0 The research has to answer more specific questions than that.\u00a0\u00a0 The authors associated with both studies must be included here.\u00a0\u00a0 Anonymous studies will not count.<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0 The precise methodology behind the study.\u00a0\u00a0 This includes the numbers of people in the samples, and how the control and experimental groups were structured.\u00a0 \u00a0Th actual method of how the study was administered must be detailed.\u00a0 For instance, just saying “A questionnaire was used” is not enough.\u00a0 As many details about that method as possible must be included.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
3.\u00a0 A substantive review of the results of the study.\u00a0\u00a0 It is important to tie the results in with the hypothesis being tested, and to posit whether the results support or do not support the researchers\u2019 hypothesis.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
4.\u00a0 \u00a0References.\u00a0 Please all references at the end of the paper.\u00a0 References do not count towards the 8 page content requirement.<\/p>\n
