The development of Global Citizen and Equity Portfolio has markedly influenced my values, beliefs and actions. Through this development, I have discovered each and every person is unique in his\/ her own way. I have also discovered that everyone has the rights to be treated equally, and with respect irrespective of her\/his background. Treating each person with love and respect will allow the inclusion and acceptability of all individuals from the diverse culture in the society or the world. Through Global Citizenship, I discovered that, hatred, conflict and poverty that can result to devastation, can be only avoided when everyone works in unity for the better of the society in a cooperative manner like. When I will be engaging in dialogue with my patients or co-workers I have learnt to exercise efficient listening and speaking skills. As a nurse, I have learnt to progress with the inclusion and acceptance of everyone who comes in contact with me, especially patients. I have also learnt to promote tolerance and respect diversity for different cultures of the patients who will be under my care.<\/p>\n
As a college graduate, I anticipate demonstrating Global Citizenship through diverse background of my co-workers and patients who will require my services. I will demonstrate the benefits of a favorable working environment that respect, and allow others to express their opinions without threats. I intend to inflate hope to patients who seems to lose hope in their recovery. I will also advise patients on the importance of taking a balanced diet, and visiting healthcare regularly for check-ups. I will ensure that I act as a model to my co-workers in treating patients equally regardless of their financial status, tribe or race. I promise to protect and promote the rights of all patients by applying the knowledge I have gathered from my studies on the patient abuse. <\/p>\n
With the help of Global Citizenship and Equality portfolio, I have learnt how to be; compassionate, respect other people\u2019s culture, open-minded, and resistance to stereotyping.
