When a person is poor, he or she is unable to afford and sustain a constant supply of the basic human needs of clean water and sanitation food, shelter, clothing, and education without struggling to obtain them. The World Bank defines extreme poverty as living below $1 and $2 for those in moderate poverty levels. Poverty is a global problem that affects people variedly. The United States is home to millions of nationalities.
