You can select a topic\/argument of your interest. The general rule is that it has to deal with issues experienced at the US-Mexico border or beyond. You can touch on any subject such as gender or class relations, racism, folklore, ethnohistory, violence, state formation, colonialism, or post-colonialism. You are not restricted to the US-Mexico border; you can look at issues at other border spaces such as the US-Canada border, the Mexico- Guatemala border region, or any other borderland region of the world. <\/p>\n

Your essay will be graded according to the AEFIS rubric for \u201cUnderstanding & Applying Basic Anthropological Concepts\u201d Based on this rubric; I will be looking at the following characteristics in your essays:- Understanding basic Anthropological concepts <\/p>\n
– Application of Anthropological concepts or content – Idea or Content Development- Organization- Style <\/p>\n
– Conventions <\/p>\n
