Mark clear boundaries to indicate your words from the words of your sources by introducing your quotes with\u00a0 signal phrases.\u00a0 If it is clear how your quoted citations connect to your ideas and where they begin and end, you may consider omitting the signal phrase and placing the author’s last name in the parenthetical citation (see Chapter 55, pages 590-593).<\/p>\n
