I agree with you that the two primary reasons why the Rooney rule was never actualized was that it was not bought into the light and practiced. This was because even though it is essential to support minority groups by giving them a chance to be coaches, the general managers always have a person in mind or a description of the kind of person they would want for a coach. Therefore when they have to choose, the ground is not always level, but they have their biases to determine who appeals to them and whom they feel that can deliver, leaving the minority groups out which have potential individuals to be coaches. The suggestion about a salary increase for teams with minority coaches is an excellent idea. If that were to happen, the team would be highly willing to have minority coaches due to the pay, and through that, the minority will have a say and a place to be proud of. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
