University Experience

My semester has been challenging so far due to the changes that I have met since I came to this institution. However, the classes I am taking are not so demanding in terms of physical effort because most of them are done at the same spot in my department. The food is also good at the university cafeteria as well as at the food shops located inside and outside the institution. Perhaps the hardest element of my life at first was the living arrangement since I was not used to living with strangers. However, the first years party that was organized for us showed me that people could be friendly. This is where I met Rose, who became my best friend since that day.

Contrary to the notions that university life is an easy ride, the life so far has not been easy. However, this does not imply that all the activities during the beginning of the semester have been boring and full of hard work. However, activities such as games and class discussions have brought lots of fun that could one could not have anticipated from such activities. In addition, socialization in the institution has been a lot of fun especially meeting new students in and outside class. This has allowed me to interact with students from different cultures and socio-economic status hence learning different things including understanding the actions of others. The most exciting thing so far in the institution is my classmates and may lecturers. This is because they have allowed me to enjoy learning more than I have ever done in my entire life. Both the students and the lecturers provide a peaceful and friendly environment for learning through various activities. From the short stay, I am happy to state that although the stay is not going to be an easy one, it is going to be enjoyable. The difference between being in college and being in high school is the freedom granted to the students. This freedom has enabled me to put into practice my self-control.

I have decided that I will practice my principles of self-assessment and self-control while being in university in order to succeed. This is due to different temptations that I have witnessed so far in the institution.
