The plight of immigrants is also a key issue that need to be looked in a deeper analysis of the welfare of the immigrants. One of the core issues in this regard is the relationship between immigrants pay and the skills the possess. Studies have shown that immigrants often get lower pay or salary compared to the locals even if they possess high quality skills. The discrimination at the work place and other economics opportunities puts immigrants at a worse situation in their new location. The immigrants often go unrewarded for the contribution they make to the economy of a country. Fo vr example, it is clear that some immigrants may do better than local workers that shows that there is still deep-rooted discrimination that affects the immigrants. Immigrants also face acute discrimination when it comes to labor pr movement opportunities. These variant disparities are more common when looking at the opportunities given to the immigrants in their search for a better life, In the same manner, immigrants get discriminated when it comes to the affairs of business opportunities and pay. In fact, some countries shave very strict laws and rules that make it hard for new comer immigrants to start or operate a business.

Plight of the Immigrants

One of the core issues here is that the laws are meant to restrict competition from the immigrants when it comes to the economic or business operations. The other aspect of immigrant disparity is when it comes their level of participation in the economic or financial affairs (Card & Peri, 2016). One of the underlying elements that is derived from this aspect of the dipartites is that immigrants tend to face hard times in their first or second year of integration. These disparities are often triggered by the issue of varying perception and treatment of the immigrants. Some government laws make it hard for the immigrants to startup a busines thus pushing them to life of dependency. In some case immigrants are unable to cope with the hardships they go through making them more vulnerable to crime and life of poverty (Martin, 2015). The various aspect that shapes the life of an immigrant that is often dependent on relief supplies and handouts tend to complicate their situation in their new land. These integration ad survival obstacles that the immigrants face are some of the core issues that are yet to be addressed today.

Moreover, the increasing aspects of immigrant inflow tends to put governments under pressure with some of the immigrants facing lockdowns where they live in camps and in less contact with the outside world. To add on this, immigrants are often subjected to acute discrimination where they are even exploited for free labor where they get little in return for their hard work (Martin, 2015). For example, immigrants are employed under casual terms where they are just rewarded with food and shelter. A case in point is the France immigrant crisis that saw many immigrants work in flower and fruit farms in France with little or no pay. The poor treatment of the immigrants makes their situation hard where they often regret making the treacherous journey into the country. Moreover, the suffering they get in their new land and the wide suffering coupled with vulnerability to crime has led to some immigrants losing their lives and some ending up in jail (Borjas, 2015). Studies have shown that immigrants are more likely to face tougher sentences when they commit crime than locals that makes their life even harder under the law.

Hardships of aquiring suitable immigrant status and documentation

Over the years, the immigrants have faced acute suffering where they hardly access the basic necessities like shelter and food that lead many to a life of crime. To break this down, the suffering of the immigrants tends to go deeper where some face more discrimination and displacement even in the areas they are allocated by the government (Alesina et al., 2018). To add on this, some immigrants turn to life of crime when they lack the right amenities or support from the government. Pressure and lack of basic necessities like food and shelter has subjected many immigrants into a life of crime where some often turn to crime like robbery and drug trafficking. In fact, the highest number of drugs trafficked along the US-Mexico border is sone by hired immigrants. This group of people who are so vulnerable to the tricks of the drug traffickers and other criminals are promised good pay and transit across the heavily guarded boarder only if they carry the drugs (Card & Peri, 2016). These tricks and forced crime make them more vulnerable where many get caught ending up spending their life in prison. The plight of immigrants cannot be underestimated as it comes in many forms ranging from financial, social, and even physical suffering.

Some immigrants even end up in the streets when they lack the basic support like shelter and food. Women and girls immigrants often suffer the most as they have little or no experience in handling tasks that would earn them some livelihood. When it comes to earning a living and deriving any sensible form of employment, immigrants tend to face acute discrimination and suffering (Martin, 2015). This is seen in the case where the immigrants lack the basic documents to enable them secure a living. In such situation, these people suffer greatly where they lack the right avenues to making a living like employment and ability to start a business. In other outlooks, the plight of immigrants comes when they face acute suffering before they are integrated into the population. The lack of basic documents even makes some get rejected and returned to their country of origin (Card & Peri, 2016). For example, many Syrian refugees who escaped war with nothing in their hand often face acute discrimination for lack of documentation. The issue of immigrants in this age is even getting worse with many suffering for lack of the right backup documents and traceable origins. The rising conflicts across the world and environmental chaos is leading to thousands of people to seek refugee status in other countries.

The issue has magnified over time leading many to suffer greatly and even causing more suffering and extensive division of families. The mass exodus of South Americans mainly from Peru, Venezuela, and other south American nations has been one of the largest human migration crises of the 21st Century (Borjas, 2015). Families escaping crime, poverty, and government pressure has marked the past three years mainly in South America. These immigrants often move upwards in search of better lives in America where some even fail to make it the thousands of miles journey. The solution to the problems facing the immigrants can only be solved by first addressing the cause of their movement (Martin, 2015). The UN in collaboration with the UNHCR has been deriving measures and policies that would help bring stability across many countries that are core sources of the immigration crisis. For example, the installation of stable governance and economic uplifting of these nations is one of the measures being installed to help curb the issue of immigration. These measures are not only roving effective but also helping derive the right solution in curing the issue of immigration (Alesina et al., 2018). The issue of discrimination often triggered by the perceived competition that the immigrants bring to the natives often triggers animosity and fighting.

Most natives accuse the immigrants of taking up their privileges like in the employment sector that leads to acute hatred and sometimes infighting. To help address this issue, many governments come up with measures and solution to help curb the issue where they often look at how integrate the immigrants while still not pose any threat to the locals (Card & Peri, 2016). While some studies show that immigrants are less likely to get into crime, there are still cases where the immigrants are reported to commit offenses in search of a better life. The engagement in crime among the immigrants is often triggered by the pressures to mee their basic needs when the government fails to provide for them. These issues are mainly associated with the rising cases of derived suffering where some immigrants even make a return journey after they fail to meet their desires and dreams. In line with this perception, the suffering of the refugees goes even deeper that is also associated with the increased rates of crime with some even being jailed.
