Reason Why People Dropout

Introduction

We all thought about dropping out of school due to various reasons, but they’re also alternative ways other than that, and we can always follow and make things work on our way. Expensive tuition fees for college is one of the significant reasons that orchestrate cases of dropping out. The career path can open up as a result of being a holder of a college degree. Still, at the same time, the cost is a significant limiting factor towards achieving that certification. On average, one student should have to pay a massive $38,330 for a four-year university course at a public university, and a staggering $49,870 at private nonprofit school (Montalvo, 2018). Such enormous amounts may lead students who are financially unstable to drop out of school. Secondly, students may drop out due to unpreparedness for academic demands. Education requires psychology preparedness by the student since it entails vigorous educational activities that a student might find it hard to cope up with if they are not mentally prepared (Daley, 2010). Things like examinations require mental preparedness, and if a student is unprepared may be forced to drop out since exams failing may result in discontinuity. Lastly, dropping can result from being unhappy with the school. Some students may find it challenging to adapt to school a given school life and culture and may often lead to loneliness (Kim & Hull, 2012). Cases of boredom orchestrate the student victims to long to leave and go back to or rather spend in places they feel more comfortable.

Thesis statement: The paper aims to highlight three major issues that lead to students dropping out of school.

Way to prevent dropping out

Talk to them about career realities: In the current world, employers are looking for people who are qualified and well-equipped. It is hard to find suitable job opportunities if one if not qualified. As such, it is essential to let a student understand the importance of having a career.

Encourage a break rather than quitting: sometimes in life, it is better to take a break on things that one finds stressful rather than just giving up or overdoing. When one takes a break, he/she can reflect on challenging things about the school and develop a proper mechanism to work on the challenges.

Consider a different school: It is always right to school in a place where one feels more comfortable and settled. It allows proper and smooth learning of s student.

Why college is important

College graduates make the most money: Most companies prefer employing individuals with higher literacy levels and those who have academic credentials. Also, graduates are entitled to earning more than those with lower levels of education.

Better career opportunities: people who are educated have more advantage compared to their uneducated counterparts when it comes to career opportunities.

Better life in the future: people who are educated are more equipped to living a better life compared to uneducated individuals based on the fact that they have a wide range of career opportunities to choose from.

Conclusion

Some of the main reasons why people drop out of school are due to expensive tuition fees, unpreparedness for academic demands, and being unhappy with the school. The problem is not static and can be resolved by giving those will to drop advise about career realities, take a break when necessary, and if the school environment is not offering the best experience is better to transfer to another school.
