In today’s fast and competitive business environment executive managers need to be at the top of every situation. They need to be prepared to make fast and smart decisions. Strategic decision making involves weighing the risk and the outcome of the decision. They should make decisions that minimise risk and maximise the benefits of the company.

Executive information system is a computer based system that is used by executive managers to access information that will help them make decisions for the organisation. It helps the managers to make high quality decisions within a short period of time. Since there is increased competition and globalization there is need to access the right information and make the right decision (Chang, C. H. 2014).

When the executive information system is used consistently and over time, the manager is able to identify the problem easily. When the problem is identified on time then the manager can promptly make a decision to solve the problem. Any manager is concerned with the success of their organisation hence they will not hesitate to act immediately. Frequent use of the executive information system will allow the manager to have access to a wide range of information. The system should be flexible to achieve the needs of making decision and the changing information. Even with the use of executive information system the managers still rely on the other employees to help them make decision (Chang, C. H. 2014).

One of the reasons why managers use the executive information system is to help them make decision fast, in the world of business every second is important and they cannot afford to waste any time. The system also provides them with information that helps in decision making (Chang, C. H. 2014).

In conclusion managers should take advantage of this technology to help them make good decision and impact positively on the organisation.
