Drone Driving: Game proposal
Game Design
Drone Driving is a simple but interesting game that involves piloting a drone. In recent years, the use of drones has gone mainstream. As a result, there is a public interest in understanding this new technological frontier. The game will be developed to take advantage of the increasing public interest in drones. In addition, there is a growing interest in the number of uses that drones can be applied to. Although the game will be developed for an optimal mobile experience, a personal computer version will also be available.
The theme of the game is the use of drones as technologies of war. Although drones have multiple applications, they are primarily used in surveillance and warfare. Furthermore, adopting the approach taps into the need for stimulating and exciting games.
The game has multiple settings. In the first level, the game is set in a rural environment as the player flies the game over a number of trees. In the second level, the game is set in an urban environment. The third and fourth levels involve a rural setting where it is possible to play the drone over enemy territory. The last level is also set in a rural environment. The environment of the game is influenced by a real world setting where the planes are stored in a military base and there is no heavy human population. However, they can be flown over cities and other urban areas.
Drone Driving gives the player an opportunity to be the main character. The player acts as a drone pilot for the United States elite navy seal squadron. The simple game allows players to test their piloting skills while learning how surveillance drones work. The game functions as a simulator. It tests the navigational skills of the player and their ability to withstand the pressure.
Although its setting is similar to a number of games available in the market, it focuses on drones. As a result, it is among the first games to implement these increasingly ubiquitous devices in a game setting. However, its simplicity and a focus on creating a human computer interface that serves the needs of the user will most likely lead to its adoption as a mainstream program.
The genre of the game is role-playing. Although it involves a lot of flying, the essence of the game is for the player take on the role of a drone pilot. The mission involves performing a task that a drone pilot would be expected to perform.
The game will have avatars that will represent the other characters in the game. However, the main character is the drone. There will be canons that will emit heavy gunfire. The game will have three drones from which the player can select one to use for the game. The differences in the three drones are based on the speed. The model Z will be the fastest while the model X will be the slowest. Model Y will have an average speed. The player should pick the drone with the speed that he can effectively handle.
The model Z drone will be grey; model X will be black while the model Y will be navy blue. Besides the green rural environment and the grey skyscrapers, the game will not involve a lot of colors. As a result, it will be easy to design during the final project.
The game will have five levels. In keeping with conventional gaming rules, the complexity of the game will increase as the players advance through the levels. In the first level, the player will fly the drone in the sky. The drone will be flown from a military base to the command center. Although there will be no challenges in the flight path, the player will be required to reach the next destination within a limited time. At the command center, the drone will be given a message that should be delivered to another military camp where individuals are preparing to go into the battlefield. The second level will involve flying over the city skyline. The challenge requires piloting the drone successfully over the tall city skyline. The third level involves flying over enemy territory to gather intelligence without being seen. A failure to evade the surveillance systems will trigger alarms. As a result, the drone will be shot down. In the fourth level, the player is expected to evade sustained firepower. The last level involves evading both light and heavy firepower.

Story Board
The storyboard presents a detailed evaluation of each level. Each level is expected to take 3 minutes. Although the time taken to complete the game will depend on the ability of each player, the projected time that it will take an average player ranges between 15 and 20 minutes. The failure to complete the mission within the specified time will lead to the end of the game. The player will click on the start button on the screen to start the game. The escape button will enable them to return to the mobile homepage. An abort button will enable them to cancel the game. Although drones are silent, there will be a dramatic sound as the player flies the drone. Moreover, the sound of cannons firing and gun shots will be heard clearly. Each level has a sketch that demonstrates its main aspect. A graphical representation of the five levels is present at the end of the document.
Level 1
The first level is a very easy one. The player simply needs to fly the plane from a military base located in the outskirts of the town to a command center. The only challenge is avoiding hitting birds, tall structures, and trees. However, the player is expected to reach a new destination within a limited time. Figure 1 shows the drone flying over a rural skyline. There are trees and tall structures. In addition, the national electric grid can also be seen.
Level 2
In the second level, the player needs to fly the plane over the city skyline from the command center to another military camp. The challenge involves navigating the drone through a tall city skyline. Points will be awarded for successful avoiding of skyscrapers and billboards. Figure 2 shows the drone flying over the city skyline. There are tall skyscrapers and billboards that the drone pilot should navigate through.
Level 3
In the third level, the player has to fly the plane through enemy territory without being seen. The mission is to act as a reconnaissance for the purpose of collecting intelligence about enemy locations without being noticed. Stepping into surveillance paths will trigger sustained gunfire that will lead to the destruction of the drone. The third level will be the most complex stage for the majority of the players. However, the concept is to navigate the drone carefully in the same way a player would drive a car in a game where the task is keeping the car on the road. In Figure 3, the drone flies over an enemy military camp. Sacks and artillery can be observed in the picture. Furthermore, there are also watchtowers which beam light as they rotate.
Level 4
The fourth level involves avoiding light gunfire as the drone flies over enemy territory while serving as an advance attack. The player can also return fire so as to clear the way for the approaching navy seals team. Although the fourth and fifth levels appear a little complex, a simple interface design can be used to create a very simple game. In Figure 4, there is light gunfire directed at the drone. The user is expected to avoid this light fire. In addition, the picture shows the drone firing at a group of soldiers.
Level 5
The fifth level has a significantly higher complexity. From the onset, the player will have to navigate the drone through sustained gunfire from both light and heavy weapons. Points will be earned for reaching intended destinations without being hit. Victory will involve identifying the location of the terror mastermind and eliminating the targeted house. Figure 5 shows the drone navigating through a maze of both heavy and light firepower. The player is expected to avoid being hit. Eliminating the target represents successful completion of the mission.
Conclusion
In conclusion, although Drone Driving will not make a huge impact in the mainstream gaming market, the game will make a significant impression on individuals of all ages who value the thrill of driving things. In addition, it’s a simple game that even an elementary student would identify with. Furthermore, it represents support for our troops as they pursue a targeted strategy in the war on terror.
