Formatting
Paper is formatted in MLA with page numbers, heading, title.
Spacing and indenting are correct (double spaced/paragraphs indented). Font is Times New Roman 12 point.
Bibliography Last page(s) of the paper is the bibliography. It has been renamed Works Cited (because you are going to cite, or quote from, the sources on this page). This is not the same as the annotated bibliography. This is the original twelve-item bibliography that you made before you did the annotated bibliography.
The Works Cited page has at least ten sources, which means you may have dropped a couple of sources that weren’t useful, or you may have swapped out some sources.
Formatting is correct.
Organization/
The paper follows the revised outline that you filled out.
You will have one paragraph for the introduction – it should end with the thesis statement. This will be Roman numeral I on the outline.
The body of the paper will consist of several paragraphs for the pros and several paragraphs for the cons of the topic. Follow the outline and write one paragraph for each supporting point under Roman numeral II and each supporting point under Roman numeral III.
The conclusion will be one paragraph from Roman numeral IV.
Quotes/Citing Sources Each body paragraph has at least one supporting quote from one of the sources listed on the Works Cited.
Paper contains at least one supporting quote from each source.
All sources cited in the paper are listed on the Works Cited page.
Quotes are formatted correctly. (The Research Paper folder has a handout on how to format quotes. It also has a sample research paper so you can see how quotes are used in the paper.)
Length The paper is six-eight pages long, not counting the Works Cited page(s).
Works Cited is numbered consecutively at the end of the paper. (For example, if the paper is six pages long, the Works Cited will start on page 7.)
Grammar/Writing Paper has been spell checked and proofread for errors in grammar, agreement, capitalization, and punctuation.
Paper does not contain run-on sentences, confusing sentences, or sentence fragments.
Paper does not use first-person pronouns (I, me, my, mine) or any form of you (you, your, yours).
