Same sex marriage can be defined as a marriage between two people with a similar gender identity. These marriages are also known as gay or equal marriages. However, this issue of gay marriages has brought a lot of concerns to numerous people of different caliber across the globe. Nevertheless, the supporters of the gay marriage term it as a marriage equality that must be recognized and permeated. As a result, in the contemporary world there are defined modern laws to support and protect same-sex marriage in countries like Canada, Iceland, Norway, South Africa, Sweden and Argentina among others (Same-sex marriage, 2013). Additionally, there are some proposed, but pending bills focusing on allowing legal recognition of gay marriages. Therefore, same sex marriage with a varied jurisdiction will bring an alteration into the marriage legislative law but this can happen if only the court rules for legitimate certification of equality. Same-sex is a very ambiguous topic. For this reason, I am compelled to focus on some ideas about same sex marriage with an interview and types of visuals used to validate these ideas

Same sex marriages have raised many debates in the whole universe. These debates aim at unraveling the puzzle of whether all gay couples should marry either privately or publicly or should they be denied marriage rights. This is because its recognition incorporates social, political, human and civil rights and religious concern all over the world. However, many countries and individual have continued to support legal recognition of equal marriages. Among the research conducted many indicates that the support for same-sex marriages mostly comes from several higher institutions of learning and among the young generation. Additionally, support for legal recognition of gay marriages is rising tremendously among people of different age, religion, social, economic status, race, political association and ethnicity among others.

It is clear that a same-sex marriage as complicated as it is some culprits who find themselves as a gay or lesbians decide to marry or never get married. This depends heavily on the inner feeling they have concerning having a family and its setup. This calls for a serious reflection because same-sex marriage is a very sensitive issue and even in the countries where permeated to take place the couples are obliged to brood on the manner in which they want to structure their marriage or relationship. However, the couple has most factors that they must consider before choosing to marry or not to marry. These factors include, having children, owning property either jointly or by splitting up, inheritance plus death taxes, government benefits, transfer taxes and immigration among others.

Same-sex marriage is propagated because these individuals who want to verify or formalize their relationship are normal human beings. Therefore, the humanitarian rights expect them to be treated with dignity and respect. Most importantly their recognition will have an impact on the attitude of their family, the community they live in and the person himself (The Struggle for Same-Sex Marriage, 2013).

Gay people come from a healthy family and failure to recognize them and allow them to exercise their marriage rights does not only affect them but their family too. This means they do not exist as a solitary being or in the periphery of the society. Therefore, it is not right to excommunicate them or marginalize them because they are different from the straight couples. In fact, when the community treats a person differently or with contempt due to the natural take for marriage it not only affects the person in question but the whole family at large. Therefore, it is imperative for the community and everyone to accept the gay people for the sake of the family and the ties it have with the gay person. Nobody can survive like an Island so gay men and their family should feel secure in the community they live in. This stems from the fact that if they lack the chance to exercise and validate their marriage rights it will affect them and their family at large.

Gay couples may feel as if they are second-class citizens if they are denied the opportunity to formalize their marriage like the different-sex couples do. Therefore, it is essential to allow them to exercise their emotional and psychological right of marriage. However failure to grant them legal recognition promotes discrimination and prejudice towards individuals who have the same responsibility in the country as any other person. This may make them feel intimidated and discriminated upon according to their needs but not when it comes to paying taxes.

Same-sex couples are members of society and should be allowed to live happily as the different- sex couples counterparts. Therefore, recognition of their marriage will strengthen the bonds in the community at large making each person feel like an asset. However, if gay people are denied the opportunity to exercise their marital needs within the community it will create tension and insecurity. This may make community members feel more important and right than the gay couples which might bring hatred and isolation for the same-sex married couples.

There are many arguments as to why same-sex marriage should not be legalized, but one of the major one is the issue of children. Many people argue that for a child to be emotionally and psychologically healthy he/she must be raised by different-sex couples. It is a difficult exercise to explain this scenario to a child whereby she is raised by a couple of the same-sex of which she is expected to see them as a father and mother. Children are raised up in different set-up like single parent family, extended family or an orphanage. These are common in the world and it is easy to explain to a child. Nevertheless, it is almost impossible to describe the legal rights of gay people to a child.

Same-sex marriage is a difficult subject to discuss. This is because it is hard to neutrally deal with the problem to suit the different feelings expressed by people. However, it is a crucial step to note that every individual has their own opinion. Same-sex marriage has been there since time immemorial even in the traditional African society. However, anciently there was no physical contact which has unfolded with the twenty first century.
