PHASE III: Rough Draft (50 points) and Workshop #4 (80 points)

*Please note: The due date for both the rough draft and workshop #4 is Thurs. 4/5/18*

Due: Hard copy due in class on or before Thurs. 4/5/18. Digital copy via Turnitin due by 10:50AM. Refer to the grading rubric in Turnitin for grading criteria.

Rough drafts must meet the following criteria:

Length: between 1500-1800 words (Final Draft length requirement is 1800 word minimum)

Organization: papers must follow essay format (1) introduction with a synthesized argument, (2) body paragraphs that support/qualify the argument and include directly quoted information, paraphrased information, and in-text citations, (3) concluding remarks that close your discussion, and (4) a Works Cited page)

Academic research requirements: 8 source minimum, the majority must be library resources

Readability: proofread for sentence-level distractions (I do not deduct points for grammar/punctuation/spelling errors in the rough draft, but you want your draft to be as free from these mistakes as possible.)

Workshop #4 activity: Peer review (80 points)

A printed copy of your rough draft is required. For our final workshop, you will exchange your rough draft with a classmate. When you’re finished, you’ll hold on to your copy so that you can take it home and continue to work on it. I will assign your grade for the rough draft in Turnitin. By participating in the peer review workshop, you automatically earn full credit.
