Personal Statement

My interest in Business administration began during my years in high school, right after my graduation. I have always found business operations something that is motivating and enjoyable at the same time and I believe that it is the most suitable career choice for me. During my high school years, I found myself excelling in subjects that are concerned with commerce and other business and accounting procedures, which in turn cemented my interest in the subject. During my time in high school, I was also an active member of the business club a student organization whose activities were primarily centered on instilling business values in young students such as myself. I was the permanent secretary of this organization, apposition that allowed me to put into practice my talents and skills so as to gauge my actual performance in the field as a professional. I was charged with the responsibility of organizing all the club’s activities and ensuring that these activities went on without any disruptions.

My involvement with this club also allowed me and other club members to get involved with volunteer work, especially that of community service. These volunteer activities allowed us as a group to put into practice some of the principles of business administration such as team works and organizational skills, thus building on our talents and skills in the field. In addition to this, my family owns an import and export company, and I have been actively involved in the company’s operations from the period when I was in high school to date. this has allowed me to learn some of the essentials in business administration such as planning, organizing, and budgeting among other things. My mother has an efficient business setup, I learned a lot from the administrative setup. I have worked for the family company for almost two years as a part time employee, and would like to build on my interest and talent in business administration through the acquisition of a degree in business at a university of my choice. Specifically, I would like to major in business administration, as I hold the firm belief that a career in business administration is the best possible professional direction for me.

I consider my leadership and problem solving abilities as my core talents that will contribute to m experience in business administration. This is because they are the two qualities that business administrators should have if they are to succeed in any business administration operations. My educational experience as well as, my working experience have allowed me to put these two skills and talents into practice. They have also assisted me in developing my talents and skills much further, so as to, succeed in my career in business administrations. In addition to being part of a team and being led by others, I believe that I am a good leader, something that will come in handy during m profession. I have had the opportunity of leading teams and groups of people during m time in high school, as well as, the period when I worked for my family’s company. I have successfully led and directed teams to the completion of projects before the deadlines, thus illustrating my potential to succeed as a business administrator. Accordingly, my problem solving abilities have also been beneficial to me and my interest in business administration. This skill has assisted me in resolving all of the problems that I encounter both in my personal and professional lives. This has, in turn, allowed me to make the best decisions regarding problems and situations that I may face, hence preventing a repeat of making similar mistakes. More specifically, my problem solving skills were put to test during my working period at my family’s company, when coming to the decision of the proper stock taking procedures to be used in the company. This had become a problem for the company, as the company kept loosing stock and suffering losses owing to improper decisions and my suggestion allowed the company not only to keep track of stock, but also to make profit while at it. Conclusively, my talents and abilities have granted me the ability to organize and administer, which are essential for a professional career in business administration.

My talent and skills make me proud to be who I am, and in addition to the above mentioned talents I also believe that I am an honest, obliging, just individual. These are personal qualities that I believe will be beneficial to my professional career, especially because of the ethical issues an considerations that business administrators today are constantly facing. My honesty will allow me to perform business administration activities candidly, thus assist my respective organization in succeeding in their business ventures. This will also reduce the possibility of any legal problems and issues that normally arise owing to lack of honesty by business administrators. In essence, I intend to utilize my personality as a tool for professional success for the assurance of success in my professional career, as well as, during the pursuance of my major in business administration at the university. I believe that my personal qualities will set me aside from the rest of the candidates in my chosen professional field, which will in turn assure me of success in my professional career.

Working in the business field and putting into practice my talents and skills for the promotion of trade is my prime glee and accomplishment. It is when in practice of my talents, and being in the business environment that my choice for pursuing business administration as a preferred career path are affirmed. I desire to be of assistance to m respective organization, as well as, its consumers through proper communication and interaction, as well as, providing my assistance as expected in the business organization. My love of business and commerce has impelled a sense of confidence regarding working towards realization of my life goal and objective as a business administrator. Attaining a Major in Business administration from the university is a fundamental step in the direction of this vocation, and I trust that my, knowledge, character, and strong points will make me a spirited aspirant in this field. The major in business administration degree will allow me not only to achieve my life goals and objectives, but also to put m talent and skills into practice. Receiving a major in business administration degree sanctions me to make the most of my education in assisting business organizations, as well as, academicians in the field.
