ESSEX COUNTY COURTHOUSE.

They serve as the largest and busiest trial courts in New Jersey with up to about 60 judges and 1100 other staff members. These courts serve the 798,301 citizens of Essex County who happen to live in the 22 municipalities in an area covered by 127.44 square miles. Some of the importance of the Essex County Courthouse are the formation of the court authorized nonprofit organization which works via specially trained and supervised personnel through volunteering to promote children welfare in Essex County. These children, pulled away from their homes as a result of child abuse, having being neglected or abandoned are taken care of by the Essex County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA).

Essex County has close to over 3000 children who have been abused, neglected or abandoned by their families. CASA, serving as the foster child’s “voice in court” works to ensure services needed and assistance are provided while helping to move the children to safe and permanent homes. The nonprofit organization goes ahead to provide information to Family Court judges through use of trained volunteers to investigate and unearth the background of foster care cases plus make recommendations to the judges that will help a great deal in moving children much faster to safer and permanent residences. CASA volunteers remain diligently focused on the needs of children for permanent placement until that need is actualized notwithstanding whether the plan is aimed at reunifying the child with its parents, placement with relatives/kin or adoption.

The Essex County Courthouse comprises of the Vicinage Probation Division which in most instances acts as an enforcement arm for the court and plays an important in accomplishment of various missions for the court. Fair and just dispute resolutions are obtained only when court orders are fully put in to enforcement but again fairly. Citizens rights to safety and property are fully protected by proper supervisory works of probationers in the communities we live in. probation thus promotes children, family and New Jersey community welfare through enforcement of court orders, offenders supervisions, monitoring of behaviors and interventions for positive results. The probation division of the Essex County Courthouse takes care of more than 15,000 court cases plus takes speciality in cases like Adult Intake, Pre-Trial Intervention, Supervisory Treatment, Sex offenders, domestic violence, drug court. Essex County probation officers collect more than $2.5 million annually as part of court-imposed fees.

The Essex County Courthouse is made up of colonial history architectural structures. It has helped the entire county to be designated as the Essex National Heritage Area by the National Park Service. Areas surrounding the County Courthouse have been preserved due to their significance nationally, acting as tourist attraction sites and by extension earning the county with lots of revenues collected. The Essex County Courthouse has been used by many scholars as a study and training centre for carrying out research work. That aside, practicing law students have been using Essex County Courthouse as a learning centre. Many have passed through the courtrooms during their internships in a bid to familiarize themselves with court rules and proceedings in order to boost their class knowledge. Essex County Courthouse has created a lot of employment opportunities to hundreds of thousands of residents. The neighboring community has benefitted a lot by virtue of the fact that the court is within reach. Being the largest in Essex County and most dependable in New Jersey state, Essex Courthouse serves so many people who do not have to travel long distances I their quest for justice. Similarly, people from all walks of life can be accommodated in to the court via the nonprofit making organization CASA as part of volunteering. Through the court, CASA helps to take care and more so provide better, future life to children abused, abandoned or being mistreated in one way or the other. This in turn helps boost community confidence in the judicial system and provides a lot of care for children with the aim of seeing them prosper and have a better future. With the large number of judges, there are no court delays or rather cases are not delay when it comes to delivery of justice to the citizens. In most instances, punishments rendered to offenders are for corrective measures to help them understand what offence they committed was against the law and that the court is only out to correct their behavior to fit the society in order to allow for co-existence with other citizens and people in the community. Through its corporate social responsibility (CSR), Essex County Courthouse helps the community in so many ways. It has come up with CASA and helped provide employment to the people in the community, it has built public amenities such as schools, hospitals, public toilets to help the many people around the county. Roads have been put on check and so have been behaviors of many people who would have gone ahead to break the law to a larger extent. From time to time, Essex County Courthouse has had public sessions in which people have been briefly taught about the constitution, their rights especially that to safety and protection in order to help them from falling short to many problems.

In conclusion, the Essex County Courthouse has played a major and vital role for the inhabitants of Essex County and New Jersey at large. Should each county get to this level, many of the problems and issues experienced by communities will be a thing of the past as developments and sharing, together shall prevail among anything else and help to promote the justice system, our culture and our future and that of the many children to come.
